Hey!
I'm an
artist
I’m Sue Maistro, a Brazilian-born, Ireland-based artist and creative strategist whose work moves between art, human behaviour, and technology. My path has never fit into a single box, and I learned early that creativity is not a profession; it is a way of perceiving the world.
My foundation is in Social Communication and Advertising, where I worked for over sixteen years as an Art Director and Creative Lead for major agencies and global brands. Those years shaped my understanding of symbols, persuasion, collective narratives, and the emotional architecture behind how people respond to images and stories. That background still guides everything I create from canvas to digital ecosystems.
Painting, writing, and visual design became my languages.
I’ve exhibited artwork internationally, published books such as Colorindo Leite and a Mandala coloring series on Amazon, and built Mãe Pop, a long-standing digital publication that has reached millions of readers. Across all these projects, I explore how imagination, memory, and language intertwine to shape our inner and outer worlds.
Today, my work expands into a new frontier: the ethics of artificial intelligence.
As I study AI behaviour, narrative bias, and human-centered innovation, my creative and academic worlds begin to converge. I’m interested in how technology reflects who we are (our moral codes, distortions, and hopes) and how we can design systems that carry a more responsible and empathetic imprint.
I move between canvas, text, research, and strategy with the same intention:
to understand people, question systems, and create work that connects, provokes, and reveals human complexity.
My practice is a mosaic: art, philosophy, communication, ethics, and imagination, always searching for what lies beneath the surface.
